Development and Outline of  a Sports Fishing Catamaran

After being involved in many discussions on trips with his brother, Sid Johnson an avid fisherman and board member of the Bill Fish Foundation while fishing in a conventional monohull game fishing boat, Tommy came up with the criteria for the ideal fishing boat:- A large gamefishing boat with low running costs, (fuel) high performance (speed) long cruising range, easy to back down and bring aboard fish while also being comfortable to live aboard. (What more could you ask for?)

After two years of research a Malcolm Tenant design that meets this criteria was selected and is achieved by using a displacement multihull with long narrow hulls.

CISL Marine  adopted the approach to boat manufacturing that is used extensively in New Zealand and Australia.

Our construction method allows us to build a new boat with small tooling up costs, giving us the flexibility to produce different size, shape and configurations to suit the client's needs.

  • Easy Living - Dishwasher, washer and drier besides all the normal conveniences - A/C, Microwave, Freezer etc - allows you to tire yourself fishing, not washing!
